Internet Basics

–          History of Internet (Assignment 02)

Server: Computer which offer Information.

Client: Computer which read the Offered Information.

When Server and Client work in WWW then those are called Web-Server & Web-Client. Web-Server run special software that allows them to respond the client’s request and accept data.

Mostly Used Web-Server Software:

–          Internet Information Server (IIS) (Default in Microsoft Software).

–          Apache Web Server … Etc.

Web-client run special software called ‘Browser’ which allows locating the appropriate server and querying the required information.

Mostly Used Web-Client Software:

–          Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) – Default in MS OS

–          Mozilla Firefox

–          Opera

–          Google Chrome

–          Apple Safari – Default in MacOS … Etc.
